About Me

Hi! My name is Libby. I am a daughter, wife, and a mother of 3 sons. My kids are grown and have families of their own. So, what do you do after there is no more: homeschooling, chauffeuring kids to soccer, or other extra curricular activities. Well, at the age of 49 I went to college. Something I had wanted to do since I was 18. I have concentrations in printmaking, photography, and a minor in art history. I truly miss those days of classes, deadlines, and good friends.

After graduation I fell in love with food photography and sought out any information I could about the subject. After searching the net I found a mentor and what is now my food photography bible - "Plate to Pixel" by Helene Dujardin. I was also able to attend one of her wonderful workshops giving me a chance to put into practice the valuable information that was taught.

I feel that I am now living the second half of my life. I love to cook and take pictures of my food. I am a self-taught chef that loves to cook, create new recipes, and take photographs during the process and the end product. I have had the privilege be an assistant to several professional chefs. I have worked as an assistant at several food photography workshops.

I have another creative side; the side of artist. I take on freelance work in painting (acrylic or oils) and linocut prints that are hand carved, hand printed, and hand painted. My blog is a journey for me; a journey in creative storytelling using my recipes, photographs, art, and things that inspire.
