A Late Happy New Year

January 2021 Evening Sunset

I realize it is nearly the end of January.  The new year and I have gotten a late start.  The reason being it just didn't feel like a new year, a new start, until all of the Christmas decorations were packed away.  It took me a week to decorate and so packing things away took just as long.  And well . . . Happy New Year!

Another thing I like to do in January is have goals.  Goals are better, at least for me, rather than resolutions.  Resolutions, are a set up for being broken by mid-January.  This plays havoc on what little self-esteem I have.  So, goals it is.  I list goals for the day, the week, the month, and the year.  And you guessed it, I love to make lists.  I love checking off things as I accomplish them.  I know it's crazy, but if I do something not on my list I add it to my list so that I can have the satisfaction of checking it off.  Hopefully I am not the only person in the world that does this 'list mark off thing'.

Really this list thing is like keeping a journal, but not.  I prep a small notebook with a little art work, pages for quotes or verses that I would like to remember and/or refer back to, ideas for Christmas, and sometimes my thoughts.  This is my way of making it my own.

Being this is my first post of 2021 I thought I would share some bloggers, podcasts, artists, and books read that I enjoyed during all the craziness of 2020.  I enjoyed artists' works and took their on-line workshops, chefs and recipes, influencers and purchases, read or listened to some really good books, and listened to podcasts that brought laughs, tears, and insights.  If you choose to check any of these out I hope you enjoy them as much as I have and continue to enjoy.  (These sites in each list are in no particular order.)

    *Artists:

Alisa Burke - love her on-line classes

Lili Arnold - she is a phenomenal printmaker; love to watch her demos

    *Food related:

Cupcake Jemma - follow on IG and fantastic You Tube demos.

Joy the Baker - follow on IG, fun demos, cookbooks.  Just the best.

Danielle Walker (Against All Grain) - if you have any type of autoimmune or food

allergies her cookbooks are just what you need.

Make sure to read her story.

Earthyandy -  lives in Hawaii and her IG stories have views of the beauty of

of the Hawaiian landscape.  This alone would warm anyone's

day.  She has also has a plant based cookbook just out

                              "Plant Over Processed".
